Technical Features

Easy to remove and reinstall during maintenance. AF COVER AIR is sized to cover a wide range of air diffusers on the market. It consists of a glass fabric, the external part is aluminised, the internal part is coated with an intumescent paint. A special collar is supplied to be applied on site to protect the flexible spiral air intake/suction pipe, securing it with a metal clamp. The product is flexible and designed to adapt to all types of diffusers.

Using AF COVER AIR means the design is not based on the fire resistance integrity of the false ceiling in which ventilation points have been inserted. The product's low weight and flexibility make it easy to install without overloading the false ceiling structure.

AF COVER AIR is much easier and faster to apply than a mineral fibre sheet structure.

  • Recessed air diffusers in REI mineral fibre false ceilings.

  • Class REI 120 (EN 1365-2) reinforced concrete floor protected by a fibre false ceiling.

On pallets or in cardboard boxes.

Specification

Supply and application of flexible AF COVER AIR firestop protections, made of aluminised fibreglass fabric treated with an intumescent product to be applied to the air intake pipe, for the REI 120 protection of air diffusers inserted in fireproof false ceilings.

Application Method

1. place the AF COVER AIR protection on the air diffuser;
2. make a cross-shaped incision with a cutter on the diffuser’s larger part;
3. insert the diffuser neck through the opening made in the cover;
4. cut the remaining AF COVER AIR triangular sections;
5. insert the duct in the diffuser’s neck;
6. apply AF COLLAR around the duct keeping it above the metal edge
    of the diffuser neck with the locking tabs facing downwards;
7. secure the collar and duct with a metal pipe clamp.
