ETA certification: AF JOINT
Fire protection for expansion joints
AF JOINT is a linear joint seal consisting of a mineral fibre, rock wool, panel and a surface coating of ablative paint on both sides.
The fire resistance is EI 180 for wall and floor under EN 13501-2.
Tests were carried out under EN 1366-4.
It can be applied to cover wall and floor joints by slightly compressing up to 10% of the product thickness inside the opening.
When exposed to temperatures above 180°C, the special coating releases water vapour due to its ablative capacity, enabling the material to withstand fire conditions.
The product is marketed in the following nominal sizes:
- AF JOINT 50 (valid for 50 mm joints): (1000 x 100 x 50) mm;
- AF JOINT 80 (valid for 80 mm joints): (1000 x 100 x 80) mm;
On request, the desired size can be produced up to a maximum certified width of 600 mm.
AF JOINT is certified with a maximum permitted movement of 7.5% of the nominal width for covering joints up to 200 mm without any additional product and up to 600 mm by adding AF SEAL W, our acrylic firestop sealant applied to the joints.
AF JOINT meets the Y1 category requirements. It has a certificate for use at temperatures between -20° and 70°C, with exposure to ultraviolet light and in high humidity environments (max 85%).
